This Christmas

posted by tristan @ 12/21/2004 11:55:00 PM

Just got home. I'm totally exhausted with all the projects meeting and stuff. But seriously, it have been like a routine. Keep telling myself to take a step at a time and keep telling myself, I've already brave through all the storms during attachment, so got to keep going!!

Christmas dinner tonight with fellow saffroners! Its good to see them. I woke up this morning, already have the plan of not going, coz i seriously have no idea what to wear for this event. But after I got home at 4:30pm, I skim through my wardrobe, dad's and bro's, looking for the best piece gonna makes me look good. It was like a fashion show: changed, ewww, next.... the process keeps going until I've found a really good one. 6:30pm. Dress up, confident and ready to go.
Hazel just messaged and said that I really know how to dress up! Flying.....

Dad was kind enough to drive me to MRT station coz it was impossible for him to send me to Bukit Timah. I got down at Commonwealth and took a cab down. That's a money-saving methodology. Flag, and best part of the story...

I tried opening the door, but couldn't. I wonder why on earth would a taxi driver lock his door. For the very first time, I was puzzled. It really didn't bothers me until I got into the taxi.
I told the uncle "6th Avenue Bukit Timah please". Expression-less. He drove off. 5 mins, he was still expression-less, just keeps driving. And you know he have those killer-looks! I swear, he have got what it takes to become those serial-killer. When I turn my head to check on the running meter, it was not ON! I began to freak out and really have lots of silly thoughts in my mind. Which taxi driver would lock their door, not asking where their passengers want to go, no smile, and forgot to turn on the meter. I was so scared that I would not live to see tomorrow! I thought he wanted to drive me to an isolated area, take a knife and stab me to death.... oh no......
Just then, I was disrupted from the evil thoughts the taxi driver might have in mind. "Sorry, I forget to ON the meter (-_-") . How much do you want me to charge you?" I told him this was my first time here. Honest right?! He started mumbling and said ok, $4 plus $1 peak hours charge. I agreed. Since when Singapore have implemented a one-time charge like Thailand or Malaysia? This only happens when I was in Bangkok 4 years ago trying to get into a Tuk-tuk! hahaha. Whew! I'm still here, alive and kicking!

The dinner at Brazil Churascarria was really good. It was a restaurant for the true carnivore! Goodness. My plate was filled up with tonnes and tonnes of meat, ranging from pork, chicken, beef to lamb. The waiter would take skewers with different kinds of meat, slice onto your plate on the spot. You can hear the sizzling sound. Yum Yum, but too much of meaty food will really send you begging for some vegetables. That's when Tessa was shocked to see my plates full of salad and use a word to describe my action "backlash". Haha! I have never eaten so much meat before in a single day. Its tasty, but not too much of it. And I would say the restaurant is really generous in servings! Thumbs up! 4 stars *ding ding ding ding*
Am i sending any of my readers drooling and slurping away? Forgive me! I received gifts from Hazel and Tracy, Nancy and Jenson and Trisha! Ray and Tessa was good enough to ask me along. Really appreciate and was indeed very touch! *sniff sniff* And another colleague Jimmy just got for himself a 3G phone. Its was superb and truly an amazing phone! Thank you to the saffron family. They really makes me feel part of it! Had so much fun tonight.

Ok, I am off to bed. Take care everyone! Smiles...
If i manage to get the photos, I'll post it here aright! Take care!
